Technically, a "magical girl" story, although there are also magical boys. In fact, the team is completely composed of transgender children! It follows these kids given a chance to become heroes. Accepting this, they can transform into a physical form befitting of how they feel inside. In addition to being able to identify the way they want, they gain powers to fight the forces of evil that threaten their homes and lives (more on that another day). Pretty sweet deal, huh? The catch is that their magical forms can be dangerous if maintained for too long, so it's not as though they can just live like that 24/7. A rest period to recharge their magic is required periodically so that they have the power they need to fight when necessary. Furthermore, when they are engaging with their enemy, who are they really protecting but their oppressive families who continue to disregard them and the bullies who continue to antagonize them. So is this magic really a dream come true, or just yet another burden to bear?
