RAIN p920 - Deja vu by JocelynSamara RAIN p920 - Deja vu by JocelynSamara

By déjà vu, I'm of course referring to Rudy's first appearance in the story.

As for how Ruby isn't recognized: covered face, makeup, never looking up, etc..  Take your pick.  Ana's a bright girl though; do you think she could figure it out?  If not right now, then maybe the next time she sees Rudy?  And what about Colette who technically saw Ruby WAY up close?

There's one more page to this arc for now.  Originally, this was going to be a two-pager with the next one.  But both ended up being pretty involved, so I split them out (sorry if this drags at all; in general, I'm trying to do fewer two-pagers).

But what could be left to see here?

Quick question, but what was the list that Rain was featured on? The top ten queer webcomics?

gotta hand it to 'em, i would NOT be brave enough to use a men's room even presenting male. Hopefully Ana's tactful enough to just let this the fuck go. She asked for privacy from Rain and gave it in return, hopefully she can do the same for Ruby.

One thing I though it was going to be Rain, we haven't seen her in the chapter yet, Ana and Ruby meeting up honestly I though  makes a lot of sense too. Also Ana will figure it out Ana got Rain so she will see what is going on but how will she react that is the question, and hopefully Ruby doesn't get stopped any more and just has a mild concession from it, why do I get the feeling that Ana is going to run into Mara and ask if they saw each other in the bathroom lol.

Ruby left the bag of purchases on the sink! I bet Colette or Ana rushes out to give her back her stuff and awkward ensues.

Geez Ruby, you sure do seem to attract banging heads. Its simple how she wasnt recognized, she left so quickly that Ana didnt get the chance to get a really good look. But thats gonna leave quite the bump on both their heads, thats for sure

Colette probably didn't notice anything, considering the minor headache.  Ana, on the other hand, will probably notice, but the question there is whether or not she'll actually say anything or not.

"How do you miss with your plumbing?"  My guess on that is years of teaching that toilet seats are gross and you should never sit on them, despite all the evidence that they aren't particularly gross.

*takes out crystal orb*
I am seeing the future. I see a mark on Ru's forehead, visibly marking the happening of the crash. And I see Ana, wondering about both her friends' fitting crash marks upon the next get-together. Clouds of plotting shade further events.

Oh wow, I didn't even think about that leaving a mark on Rudy's forehead. Nice catch. I suppose another scenario might be, Rudy puts on a bit of make up to cover it and at school Ana notices the make up and asks why Rudy has some on his forehead.

From what I've heard from friends of mine, who have had jobs cleaning both kinds of public washrooms, women's washrooms are generally a bit better than men's.

As for Ruby being recognized, I am willing to bet that Ana will think that Ruby just looks familiar, since that seems to happen to me sometimes. I see someone that looks very similar to someone I know, and either my brain goes into the logics of how that person couldn't be there at that time or I look back and realize that there are noticeable differences between that person and who I thought they were. One of the strangest instances of this was around when Jocelyn posted a comparison photo of her at the time and another photo before she transitioned, and there was a guy who works at the grocery store where I shopped that looked very similar to her before picture. So in short, I think Ruby will be fine and not be clocked.

As someone who's been in various men's and ladies' rooms throughout my life as both an attendee and a custodian, I'm actually inclined to disagree.  Perhaps it's just the ones I've seen, and it's not that there aren't exceptions.  I mean, all public restrooms are pretty gross, but I've seen some repulsive ladies' rooms. O_O

I don't doubt there are some pretty bad lady's rooms. I am willing to bet right next door is a pretty bad men's room as well. I can't help but remember meeting up with a friend at a bus depot, where we both had to use the washroom and we both came out, hoping to never use those washrooms again. Though I don't suppose in your or anyone's custodian experience, have ever come across washrooms where the men's was better then the lady's?

In my custodial experience (three grocery/retail stores and a college campus), the men's room is almost unanimously cleaner.  I want to stress that I don't mean to say "they're clean, pristine works of art"; just comparatively less gross.  The seats might be wet in the men's rooms, but they would be in the ladies' rooms too (and at the time, I was mystified by this [though I know now]). The exception is the college where in one of the men's rooms, someone "missed the bowl with a number two".  That was not my favorite day to be a custodian.  I can laugh about it now, but years later, it still raises a lot of questions.

As a side note, I will say I've noticed significantly less stall graffiti in ladies' rooms.  Men's rooms seem to be more likely have offensive phrases or pictures inside the stall doors and walls (inoffensive stuff too sometimes, but more often than not, it's not nice).  Women apparently don't draw on the walls as much though.  And when they do, it's nicer stuff (more of the "____ and ____ 4eva" kind of graffiti).  I also saw a stall once fairly recently where the graffiti wished me a nice day (and it actually was something I needed to hear that day).  Take that all however you will though.

And that's my social observation for the day.  XD

Oh wow @_@ , I think I'll consider myself lucky not to have seen men's room graffiti that bad. I don't think I have seen much graffiti since high school and the worse that it was were simple things like "you suck" or my personal favourite a drawn pair of eyes with "I.C.U.P.", though only because how least offensive and unique it was. Ya, high school, immaturity at it's best. After high school, I don't think I have ever seen any bathroom graffiti or at least nothing I remember. Also, thank you for your insight and social observation.

I read the quote in Rain's voice thanks to my italics-related conditioning.

Anyways, with the restrooms, it depends where they are. In the office buildings of engineering employments, ladies usually don't hover and thus leave cleaner areas than nearly-always-stand-pissing men. In public restrooms of malls or - much worse - highway rest places, dirtiness grades are the other way round.
