RAIN p209 - Some Big Secret by JocelynSamara RAIN p209 - Some Big Secret by JocelynSamara

I’d like to remind you – in case you’d forgotten – that Heather has reason to believe Rain may be trans (see Page 176 – “Too Cute”). Of course she’s curious to know if she’s correct or not (if remarkably patient), but she’s also very direct.

How will Rain respond to this inference of a big secret?

"Ky thinks you're hiding some big secret."
Now I'm wondering why Heather didn't just use a pronoun. It might make this situation LOADS easier...

I just started this...and just finished catching up. When I realized there's no Next button on this one...all the rages. All of them. O.e But this is now my favorite webcomic.

Thank you! I'm thrilled to hear you're enjoying the comic so much! :D

Also, thank you for pointing out that I forgot to add a "Next" button to this page. I just posted a new one this morning so there's actually one more after this. Seriously, thanks for bringing it to my attention. ^^;

Well at least Heather helped, sometimes teachers don't teach in a way that some students understand. As for Heather asking asking about a big secret i thought she might ask something like that. Now how will Rain respond to that question.

Argh... I want to know what Rain is learning, but it's just barely offscreen! What could it be? Derivatives? Matrices? Integrals? Complex numbers? The suspense is killing me!

Seriously, though, it seems that Heather's tutelage has been of some help to Rain. Hopefully, this means that Rain will do well on her test and get to see Chiaki Koizumi. In addition, Rain and Heather likely have some sort of bond through this experience. Clearly, she trusts Heather enough to ask her why Ky might be upset at her. Heather's answer, while not accusatory, is remarkably direct. Kylie does think that Rain's hiding something, as revealed by her most recent conversations with Heather and with Rain. Heather's on Rain's track, too - perhaps she's been using these tutoring sessions as a means to figure her out? I can only imagine what Rain must be thinking and feeling after Heather's last line: guilt? shame? frustration? She's faced with a difficult choice: reveal herself to Kylie, exposing her biggest secret, or continue to keep things under wraps, and risk losing a friendship. Her friends who know just feel uncomfortable around her, and her friend who doesn't know is suspicious - certainly, this is a dark week for Rain. However things go from here, though, will be consequent of whatever she decides to do. The ball is in her court; let's see how she plays it.

I'm really liking where this is going.
