When youíre the source of gossip, everyone IS like a zombie. Except, instead of wanting to eat your brains, they just want to dig through it for the juicy tidbits they donít know yet. Funny; that actually makes it sound more symbolic and relevant than I meant it to be. Go figure.

The ďguy gossipĒ that Rudy faces isnít much better than the girl gossip that Rain faced in the last update. Itís just dirtier (and even then, I wrote it kind of tame). I wanted to include an additional bit of dialogue about ďbasesĒ too, but I left it out because I donít know if high school boys still follow those rules or if that was just one of the dumb things of my generation.

Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.

Guy gossip is way more viscous than what most think.... I would know.... I was the one getting all the High-Fives...

Regarding bases, basically when I was in High School, you hit a single, then just ran a triple after that.

Yeah, damn kids today and their wacky slang. I don't understand them and I don't want to. Back in my day it was all awesome and radical and I liked it that way. Also, tell them to get off my lawn.

*sigh* Poor Rudy... I must say, I feel sorrier for him than for Rain in this situation. Rain's zombie horde has given her nothing but admiration - VERY VERY MISGUIDED admiration, but admiration nonetheless. Rudy, on the other hand, is having to deal with lewd guy gossip, not to mention everyone going "Yay! You're cured! You're fixed now!". Ah, and let's not forget the angry Todd in the background. Despite him being a bully, I find his character intriguing. I really do think that he's dealing with his own orientation crisis, and that it may very well centre around Rudy - hence why he takes it out on him.

Well, it seems like Rudy is getting admiration as well; insulting admiration, yes, but admiration regardless. To everyone else, it's as if Rudy has overcome his "disease", so they're congratulating him. Still, I do have to feel more sorry for Rudy - not only does he have to deal with the gossip, but he has the guilt of embarrasing Rain, not to mention the conflict of his own feelings toward Rain.

Interesting theory, about Todd Bittner. I never considered that he could be motivated by anything outside of blind hate, but maybe there is something more, some sort of personal reason for it. Maybe it is an attraction to Rudy, or maybe his own life just sucks, so he takes it out on the easiest target. We'll just have to wait and see where Jocelyn takes his character from here.

I can understand what Rain feel with that it does kind of feel like your being attacked by Zombies. But Rudy's in the same boat dealing with what the guys have to say about him with Rain. So is Maria isn't wearing her hairband did she rush too get ready or something, and Rudy looks a little different too. But its going to be an interesting school day.

Since Maria is growing out her hair, I wanted to show it looking different somehow (since the growth itself thus far appears negligible). So I opted to try something different and not include the hairband. Never mind the fact that with MORE hair, she'd probably benefit more from a hairband, but you know... whatever. The early stages of growing one's hair can be a pain; you just can't do anything with it. By the time it hits December or January (in story), it'll be a lot easier to show the growth, and give her more interesting variety. ^_^

Ok that makes sense.
