Never underestimate a personís ability to assume homosexuality is completely curable in an instant (let alone, at all), simply by the slightest interaction with the opposite sex.
Also, never underestimate Rainís ability to assume nothing can ever just be easy for her. She gets that from me. If something ever turns out seemingly anticlimactically for me, I may end up actually complaining that it felt too easy.
On a related note, I usually regret doing thatÖ
Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.
Your class is just that stupid. Yes, you're very pretty, but mostly they're very stupid.
"If something ever turns out seemingly anticlimactically for me, I may end up actually complaining that it felt too easy."
You shouldn't do that; if movies have taught me anything, it's exactly when you say that that the bad guy jumps out of the closet with an army of undead at his heels. XP
I HAVE heard of the rare, elusive "fake homosexual", who really was just 'confused'. But this is an overwhelming minority.
Seriously, though, this page provides another look at what the partigoers were thinking after the kiss. The other students seem to hold the abundant, typical, and uninformed notion that a gay person's homosexuality can be cured by interacting with a very attractive person of the opposite sex. Just like how Black people turn Asian when they meet a Native American . Regardless, their adherence to this theory may actually present the best possible situation for Rain; rather than put her femininity into question, this whole debacle has bolstered just how much of a girl everyone else views her as. Admittedly, they may be judging her by the wrong criteria, but at least she's safe for now. As for Rudy, though... will he adopt this new "straight persona", to become more popular, stop getting bullied, and perhaps protect Rain? Or will he deny all allegations, and remain socially true to himself? This may turn out to be a critical crossroads for Rudy. Oh, and before I forget, I love Robert's comment in panel 3; now Drew will be stuck labeled as the school's only gay student! This feels like some sort of cosmic irony...
Another great page, exploring more of the aftermath of last chapter's climax.
Rain's right arm is somewhat awkward. The forearm looks too short, and then it just sort of disappears.
Also, Gavin and Fara's facial expressions are new.
Oh, and the top three panels are missing color. But I'm sure you already knew that one.
that something is Emily
and I guess Chase since something happened then
And the flashback somehow sounds like stock dialogue for.... something ..to me, but sometimes words from real life really do come off too scripted at times. More or less, it's appropriate. It's just strange how "expected" life can be sometimes.
Actually, 'straight'. Implying 'homosexuality' is 'wicked', 'bent'. *sighs* Vocabulary itself is the enemy.
People gather together in rape mobs and hunt down lesbians, somehow still able to make themselves believe that they do something good.
Gays are likely to be enjailed and/or put on death sentence, when someone "proves" that they had sexual intercourse with another man.
I actually cried, when reading a newspaper article about this.
I hate to repeat a tired cliche, but I really think that there's something personal going on with people who have such a deep and motivating problem with other people's sexualities or gender expressions. Why can't they just think "Ew!" and get on with life? Something weird in the works.
But the biggest part of the mobs, be it in South Africa, in the US Bible Belt or certain areas of Berlin, just runs with them to be part of them. Some kind of fucked up social thing.
