The return of the Fara vs. Mrs. (Ellen) Parker dynamic. Theoretically, they must be bonding a little bit to still be talking on a first-name basis following the incident on page 29. However, Ellenís unconsciously rude commentary still drives Fara right up the wall.

And concerning Faraís lack of luck with internet dating, itís only been a couple days since she saw Aikenís commercial, so she hasnít realistically even been on the site long. Doesnít stop her from getting frustrated over it, though.

I only tried internet dating once myself. It didnít work out well for me either.

My mom and step-dad met through J-dates. They've been married for I think...Six years now? At least.

Nyan. I always feel self-concious doing personal things on a school's computer. Like I'm somehow betraying their trust or something.

:P Its not uncommon for me to pull out my laptop in the middle of the computer lab.

Good thing the keyboard's plugged into the computer otherwise Fara might have tried to use that to slap her this time.

I see we have round two. To see Fara and Ms. Parker (like the name Ellen by the way) makes me worry for the sake of calateral damage. Though I do think that Ellen doesn't realize what she said most of the time. Kind of like that girl who wants to be your friend only for her to be more of a nuisance than anything else. And though the page is a little long, its okay for a laugh. Despite that Ellen really doesn't understand she just insulted a 40 something woman with a failed relationship and unused sex appeal. In the end, everyone loses.

To be honest, the moment my mom got on eHarmony she got responses within the week from people that live out of state. And despite her excitement I did had to shoot them down because of gas mileage. and to be honest, not being the dating type I'm sure that keeps me from ever considering the site myself.

So is there only, like, three teachers at their school? I mean, I knew it was small, but...
Seriously, though, this page reopens a dynamic that hasn't been explored since the infamous "thwacking" page. Mrs. Parker, it seems, is just trying to be friendly, but she comes off more as rude. Probably because she called Aunt Fara "desperate" to her face. Like Rudy, Mrs. Parker seems to lack a filter between her mind and her mouth. Or maybe she's just completely self-unconscious. As for Aunt Fara, we get to see that she's seeking a romantic relationship. This probably stems from her disappointment that she still doesn't have a husband (or wife), and her jealousy towards her sister (Rain's mom). Additionally, Aunt Fara has this really weird desire to keep her private life private. I mean, who needs privacy, anyway?
Artistically, Aunt Fara has a new outfit! I am excite. As with most pages, there's an incredible range of facial expressions going on here (Fara is so cute in the first two panels! Even if she does look... a bit... cross-eyed.). I also love her looks of annoyance in the last two panels, as well as Mrs. Parker's rejected-puppy look. And panel three... the combination of script, setting, and appearance is just... priceless.
Overall, this is a really funny page that revisits an interesting "professional" relationship. I hope to see the two of them go at it again in pages to come!

Well to be fair to Fara she really doesn't have the time to go looking for a date. But Mrs. Parker should have at least knocked on Aunt Fara' door instead of scaring her like that.

Ahh, Mrs. Parker, putting her foot in her mouth yet again. xD

On a side note, Aunt Fara looks really good on this page! I quite like what she's wearing.

(On another side note, I still like to entertain the notion of PhotoAlbumshipping. Wouldn't it be hilarious if Mrs. Kurz signed up for Internet dating and was matched with Aunt Fara?)

Basically, if Aiken's girlfriend is her daughter, Rain's world must be extremely small.

But I doubt it.

Ya me too. If that was the case she probably would have said "My daughter tried it too, and it worked out for her" or something.

Oh good, first names.

I remember in high school the teachers were so adamant about students calling them Mr or Mrs/Miss, that they called themselves by their last name and prefix as opposed to just their first name. This was ESPECIALLY awkward when Mr. Phillipson continually called his wife, the guidance counselor, Mrs Phillipson to the class.

It always struck me as seriously frigging odd, and so to break the standard, I just called him Greg. It was fun to see him get so pissy over it :P

Good stuff, can't wait to see more.

Is she actually rude, or merely outspoken to the point of rudeness?

I would say it's probably more like outspoken to the point of rudeness. Perhaps I'd even go so far as to call her socially inept. She means well; she just can't express it quite right. ^^;

I thought that was a mustache on Fara at panel 5 until I zoomed in and realized that's supposed to be a blush. That was a little hard to discern.
