Also, title is abbreviated from "Different Wavelength". I'd have tried to come up with something better if I wasn't already late.)

To answer everyoneís first question: no, Gavin is not handing Rain the lingerie his mom suggested in the last page.
Anyway, these two continue to make the night increasingly awkward for each other. Gavinís lack of understanding towards Rainís plight does not equal a lack of compassion, but it certainly might make it SOUND like it to her. Rain on the other hand, through her hesitation and neuroticism, pushes Gavinís buttons over and over again.
The night may end in strangulation at this point.
Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.
I'm probably going to take A LOT of flack for this. Heck, I definitely am, but I have to say it.
In this one page, I think Rain is actually being rather insensitive. At this point, Gavin seems to be bending over backwards for her. He is letting her stay in his room (as we later see), he is walking her all the way to his house, and he's lying right to his mother's face. I know there is probably a significant difference for Rain, but after all Gavin's doing for her right now, I think she should let it slide.
Though I am not trying to justify previous interactions, its just that this one scene seems to suggest this.
Please don't hurt me.
Hmm....I'm goign to have to look up the difference....
As for the page vs your commentary, I can see where you are coming from. Even though they are "men's" razors, in the end they are razors and if it bothers her that much she would use them. And he was also telling the truth that that 1mm of shadow was obscured by well conditioned hair. But yeah, to Rain it seems like gavin isn't really getting it. We have all been guilty of being a little pessimistic when someone was trying their best to help. But I guess no one was right nor wrong, just exhausted from a mere 2-3 hours of drama that made it seem like a few weeks.
Again, a little more clutter for the sake of a joke, but I can see some of these panels merged or condensed and the message would still be there. so don't worry about anything. Again, you probably already know which panels I'm thinking about. Who needs to point them out to a live audience.
And on a side note, sorry about your little "incident". Hope you weren't out there for too long.
Color is a HUGE difference in razor o.O! ;3
This whole thing also makes me wonder how practical it would be to wax, like fem... er... cisgender females do. Obviously there is less to wax on the upper lip and chin when you don't have all the testosterone, but at least this way you don't have to do it every day, and as someone who has done both, waxing looked better (the skin got less irritated, too).
Using tweezers works the best, but when you have a lot of hairs it would take ages I'm sure!
Some transgirls do wax, I'm sure. Never really worked for me, but I'm sure it's just fine for others. Another common tactic for most MtF transsexuals is to eventually do electrolysis treatment. This is a good treatment for what it does because it literally burns the hair out at the root, so it doesn't grow back at all. This is, from what I hear, very painful and takes a few sessions, but it's very worth it.
Thanks for your explanation though
Comic is going great so far, though I'll be honest, I hope Gavin and Rain DON'T get together. Almost a little too bizarre for childhood male friends to get together as one becomes female
Seriously, though, I think Rain has put herself (or has been pushed by society) into a position of dysphoria. Identifying herself as a woman, she would naturally use women's products (as seen in the tampon-pad page). However, since shaving the face is typically a male activity, men's razors are more commonly used for the task. Of course, this is all underscored by the fact that men's and women's razors are largely identical, save for aesthetics... While Rain has one perspective, Gavin has a perpendicular perspective (thus, the title), and it creates a gap of understanding. I think this little episode provides an example of the problem in their relationship.
And it's a great page. I love how Rain recoils, and how her speech bubble covers up Gavin's (it effectively shows an interruption!). And I hope the pajamas Gavin gives Rain aren't the same ones his mom offered on the last page .
...There's a razor for women's faces?
