RAIN p.85 - Missed a Spot by JocelynSamara RAIN p.85 - Missed a Spot by JocelynSamara

Disturbing page is disturbingÖ and kinda funny. But Iím only laughing because I have the same complex.

Speaking from personal experience, my worst critic for how I look is myself. Even if one does a PERFECT job of shaving and/or applying makeup, if you stare at the mirror long enough, youíll find something is awry. Nevermind that you couldnít see it until your face was literally pressed against the mirror. Nevermind that your extremely trustworthy friend/significant other says that they donít see a thing. Nevermind that itís very likely all in your head. Itís there. And you simply canít leave it! This is a maddening feeling.

On the other hand, sometimes you really DO screw up (nobodyís perfect). Even Rain screwed up. But only slightly. And she WAS caught, but thankfully still not actually read. But for Rain, or any transsexual trying like hell to pass, her imagination is getting the best of her and she sees the worst of it.

:sigh: Itís so damn complicated sometimes.

Also, this page gives me additional laughs after how many people pointed out in the last page that Rainís left eye ďwasnít REALLY visibleĒ because it was closed. Checkmate.

Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.

I like to call this a right angle probability.
Most thing are angular probabilities. They seem less or more likely based on what you see (like and angle). Like "Sally often goes so it's unlikely shes gone because she's been kidnapped"
A right angle probability stays seeming likely so matter what you say (always 90 degrees). "that noise is a serial killer!"
The best thing to do is to recognize when something stay's scary even when you think about it and assert that if it resists logic, then yes, it is bull.

I think she needs a surgery to remove beard is she wants to be a girl.

As a trans woman, I can officially call this the most accurate panel in the history of forever.
Thank you.+fav :happybounce:

I know this pain all too well... But with me it seems that no matter how much I cake on, it still shows through a little (not my fault I can only afford the cheap crap). ;_;

I sympathize. I am only halfway done with my facial treatments, and everytime I feel the TINIEST stubble, I start sweating bullets...

I couldn't shave regularly if I wanted to. Beard is so tough now that if I shave more than once every 2-3 days it hurts. And the breakouts, argh!
akainu0 Featured By Owner Nov 5, 2013
As a guy who shaves regularly, yeah, that can be a bit of an eyesore (no offense).

It looks more like a smuuudge!

As someone who still tries to shave as close as possible.....I acctually know what this feels like. :D

Then again, I hated my facial hair even BEFORE I accepted myself....

Even if its a millimeter of shadow it becomes something from a horror movie. Its sooooo not fun. Going through some issues myself its this complex that makes you feel like you are the center of the universe. And in the right light, that does not sound flattering. But in the end you are correct. Like blue eyes or fizzyhair you can't get away from it and sometimes you don't even know if you can adjust to it. It is enough to make you cry, and it sucks when people say "its all in your head", almost adding insult to injury. Though the worst will always be when they compare you to others. That is a 5 o clock shadow isn't as bad as people with cancer, the homeless and jobless, or (worst of all) real girls that are trying to be happy. It can be a mental trip and makes you wonder if you are asking for too much even though you want to find that safe place just like everyone else. Such a sad world we all live in when your own moralities and sanity are even questioned by that ominous mirror. Hopefully none of us will have to spent to long doing so.

Love how you made so much in just three panels, it really was the best decision for this page. And sometimes, the message is better off simple. Though to answer Gavin, "no she isn't"

Oh man I would love to have that mountain man beard! Though they would probably frown on it at work as they hardly let me have my goatee to begin with. Have to keep it trimmed!

Gavin's last line really made laugh, just summs up this situation.

And yeah, even when I shave, if I can still feel a few hairs on my chin, I always go back and start shaving them off again, even if they're not visable in the first place. It's funny how stuff stuff like this can get you really wound up.

I sometimes (a lot of the time) forget that Rain's biologically a boy. So this page made me giggle quite a bit. Also the fact that she manages to scream in her girl voice.

I often forget with you, too, Lynn. :) So, you're stellar at passing online, I'm sure you're great face to face :)

That's a bit disturbing. I still love the page though.XD

She really does have another eye! And it's green!
Oh, and I love the image of Rain with a beard. It's so out of place, but it fits so well in the picture.
This page shows just how neurotic Rain is, and how serious she is in keeping up her image. Looking back, it really is surprising that she was discovered on her first day (Curse Rudy's 108 powers!). While this page doesn't have much drama or development, it is quite funny (and features a very memorable image!); sometimes, pages like this are needed to break the tension.

And we finally see Rain's left eye.

That piece of stubble is barely a blur on my monitor.

This chapter is not going to end well for Aunt Fara.
Suki-chan36 Featured By Owner Jun 19, 2011
Considering how light Rain's hair is, I'm surprised that anything shows up at all.
Then again, as this page has demonstrated, Rain Vision can distort things somewhat. xD
Ahh, Rain. No need to worry - you look fine. ^_^
dragon8writer Featured By Owner Jun 19, 2011
No, no, I'm not defeated yet!

1. it was a mirror reflection. Mirrors can be fooled!

2. You stated what we would see versus what she would see - but at no point declared (in comic) which would be true. Frankly, if she didn't have another eye, then I'd expect SOMETHING magical/alien/futuristic was going on anyway, so faking her eye's existence in the mirror (or in our heads) would probably be childsplay for them.

I demand far more proof than this!
