Hoo boy. Have I said yet that itís going to be a long night?
The last panel was originally going to feature a short dialogue whispered between Rain and Gavin. But I didnít like it. Then I decided on a shared thought; that felt iffy too. Ultimately, I stuck with silence as they gave pained, knowing looks to each other. Perfect!
Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.
I foresee ... interesting ... consequences of that little impromptu excuse...
Though its worse that he had to make Fara seem like a drunk child abuserin the process. But what can you do, he was at least slightly honest at why Rain had to stay over, despite the hug from his mom that she saw once upon a time. Again, poor thing.
oh wow, he lied to his mother, mwahaha
Seriously, though, I think Gavin's lie is an excusable one. It was delivered in the heat of the moment, and without malice. Plus, most of what he said is true (and I can imagine Fara getting violent with Heather!). I don't doubt small lie will create a humorous and awkward confrontation between Fara and Gavin's mom, later down the road.
Also, the page has a great title. And I love Rain's expression in the fourth panel.
He better set the record straight, since HE gave Rain that lecture about honesty.
I have experience with ill-advised lies, but never to this degree...
