I can’t believe this is up to page 7 already. Where does the time go? ^_^

ANYwho, the first thing anyone’s going to notice about this page is all of the random uncolored students in the background. This was initially done on purpose so I could have random folks in the background without making unimportant people stand out too much. I ultimately dropped this idea when I decided to make all of the other students potentially useable characters (see here - [link]), so this is actually the only page that does this. I meant to go back and fix the coloring, but got sidetracked with my eagerness to move on with the story beyond here.

So, I’m just gonna go with the excuse that it’s symbolic; yeah, symbolic... that's the ticket! Rain is trying to pretend they’re not there to make herself less self-conscious. So rather than seeing classmates normally, she sees these almost transparent people. “They’re not real; they can’t be. No need to be self-conscious.” But then she enters her classroom to find two classmates (and future important characters as of next Monday) in color, as her mantra starts to wear off and she begins worrying just how difficult the coming year is going to be for.

That’s not bad actually, for having just made that up now. Significant, meaningful, and totally believeable. I’m kinda proud of that. Clever symbolism as an excuse for laziness - boo ya.

Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.

It's so crazy to compare these early pages to where you are today. You've improved so much! (not that this isn't good either, but you know)
(Yeees, I might be re-reading it all. Shhhhh!) ;P

Ever seen the anime Durarara! ? (yes, the exclamation point is part of the title)

The artists in that show do the exact same thing. I've never really seen it done other than in that anime, and it was kind of jarring at first, but somehow I got used to it easily. Anyway, it doesn't look weird on your comic, but maybe I only think that because I've seen the phenomenon before? I suppose it doesn't matter though, if this is the only page you do it on.

Anyway, cool comic. This page is as far as I've read so far, but I'll probably comment again when I'm farther into it. I really should get back to work...I'm supposed to be writing college papers.

Nya...thats going to be part of my own problem. I am a hyperactive ball of energy and weirdness. I stand out by my very nature. >_< Transitioning, a task that is supposed to bring me closer to being who I am, wouldn't be worth it if I had to sacrifice another part of who I am.....

In short, things are gonna be difficult at first. :P

I think it would have been significant, meaningful, and totally believable if you hadn't told everyone that it wasn't. ;p

I noticed the copyright, too; do you plan to update all 80+ pages every year? x.x

Rand M. Guy!!!!
I love the fact that your subconscious keeps bringing him up! xD
Though does this mean that I should start my own Jacques Cousteau-like Rand M. Guy watch?

You could. That might be fun.

Maybe I'll just periodically stick him into pages like Where's Waldo or something. ^_^

That would be AWESOME!!!!!!

Oooh! If the school does a Halloween-themed spirit day or something, he could show up dressed like Waldo! xD

Little did Rain know that being a true ninja is hard work.

At least she got down the oft-forgotten rule that ninjas AREN'T supposed to be noticed for their painfully flashy pyrotechnics.

I blame modern media...

Crazy media and their crazy interpretations of ninjas... ^^;

I guess when I think of it, Rain is kind of like a ninja. Quiet, stealthy, graceful, etc.. You know, everything but the whole "assassin of the night" thing.
