(I totally wanted to name this page “Hi-diddly-ho, Neighborino!”, but there was no way I was going to be able to fit that in with DeviantArt’s pathetically short title requirements. Son of a diddly!)

Sadly, Kellen only gets a brief cameo in this chapter. As compensation, we do get to meet the neighbors. I wonder just what sort of people they are though…

Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.

Calm down, neighbor, she won't hit you with homework, there's none nearby!
Also: "This is fun and different." You mean Kellen always initiates contact? Wow. Poor Kellen. ^^;

(sorry, accidentally pressed enter)

This is a fascinating little plot development. Being a mother figure to Rain for so long she went as far as to say her original name. But I guess none of us can blame her. I'm sure the people I live with would feel the same way when I begin going 'out'. Even the excessive dialogue exchange is enough to enhanced how on edge Fara is.

Either way, its a good introductory to Fara meeting the neightbors, hopefully things will turn out well and that none of these neighbors will be an obsticle for her to be a good mother figure to Rain.

Well, Fara's had to keep Rain's secret safe for years (approximately six years according to Fara on this page), so she's probably good at keeping it straight which name and pronoun to use around which people.

And yeah, the dialogue is excessive (dangerously "expositiony" even) but like you said, she's nervous, so she's rambling. It kinda makes sense if you think about it. In a way, I'm surprised Kellen got a word in...

There are so many possibilities when it comes to these neighbors. One can only imagine what kind of people they may be. ^_^

Well, it should be fun to see how Fara's mingling will turn out. To be honest, I do hope it does, for what she did she deserves a life.

And don't get me wrong I have no doubt that Fara can keep a secret. But if Rain's school has proven anything its that some people have the tendancy to 'look' for things. So my only hope is that Fara will continue to protect her.

(I was surprised to see a response. If this length is okay or the content is good I will continue to comment like this. It is all about what helps after all.)
