Hey… panel 5 looks a little familiar…
This was actually a tricky page. Many of the poses that Rain is in were not easy as they were uncommon sorts for me to draw. Still, I think the end result worked quite well. Just thanks to character posing alone (as my backgrounds still verily suck), I think panel 4 may actually be my personal favorite artistically in this whole comic so far. It’s just so damned cute.
Also, yes, Rain has a pet bunny. It’s been like forty or so pages since its last appearance, and I still haven’t even said the thing’s name in canon, but yeah, it’s always been there (Its name is Puddle, by the way. Thanks again to ~Suki-chan36 for the name.) Don’t expect the him to play any crucial role in the story that changes the way Rain thinks forever or anything though; it is kinda just a bunny, you know.
Finally, I take some sick satisfaction in knowing that this cliffhangery page goes up on a Friday… meaning one extra day of squirming in anticipation to see what happens next. Does that make me a horrible person? ^_^
Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.
That's just... wow.
I like Panel 3 - such a perfect "girly" pose that's obviously totally unconscious.
(Well, on Rain's part.)
...Rediculas. Darned word. I can never spell it close enough for the auto-spellcheck to pick it up.
And I do agree with you that these poses are tricky to do, but panel 4 is proof that the work was worth it. She is pretty cute considering she's reading with puddle. Also enjoyed that you're using panel five as your new avatar. It is a good choice, like Rain, you are getting yourself bacck on a better life. And if it adds any form of recognition to you, really love the transition through the pages.
Basically how in panel four Rain looks very happy and enjoying herself to end in panel 9 looking really reclused and insecure as Ryan. and seeing Kellen all excited to talk to Ryan makes me feel sad, because you have to put up a type of facade for those you love. It really is sad considering none of us can just tell the truth and be done with it.
But such as Rain's fate, such as ours, and we will continue this journey together.
Anyway, Rain's fate is a rough one so in all fairness she is an insecure recluse a lot of the time. But it's always so pleasing when we actually get a chance to see her happy and enjoying herself. It's one of the reasons I selected the image of her smiling and joking around a little to be my avy. ^_^
But yeah, that'd never work for me either.
I don't know why panel 6 is so funny, but it's probably because it's just another of the many negative portrayals of the school. From vengeful administration to annoying peers, you're really making us despise that place...
Probably my favorite page so far, because we finally see Rain when she's not in constant distress... I mean, sure it was only for 2 or 3 panels, but hey, you've got to take what you can get... ^_^
Even though I've been out of school for a long time, my experiences with it were "memorable" for better or worse. In that regard, it feels like I've always got something to say about it.
And thanks! I'm glad you liked the page. Even someone as ridiculously neurotic as Rain theoretically has to have downtime once in a while, right?
Nevermind... I like Panel 4 too, Lynn!
Anyway, I'm glad you like the page. ^_^
On a lighter note, given the opportunity, I'll be happy to add the bunny whenever I can, though it probably won't have many scenes except for ones where Rain is actually home.
As for her hair, speaking personally, it's always a relief to be able to let my hair down at the end of the day. Though it looks nice to be put up like that, it is kind of a "tight" feeling, and has even been known to give me headaches. So when I get home and I'm not trying to impress anybody, the hair comes down. I figure maybe Rain is the same way? ^_^
The bunny seems to lighten the mood somehow but i can understand that it might only be at home with Rain. If it gives you headaches you might have it too tight lol. It is always good to let your hair down at the end of the day and just wind down.
I can see the similarities between Rain and her sister. Her sister has the same green eyes, but they are bigger, and her chin is pointy.
The art looks good on this page too. I like the positons Rain are in, and the bunny is cute. However, that bed in the center panel looks a little off.
Rain's dress is cute. :nosebleed: What type of dress is it? And it looks like she took her falsies off, but she still looks convincing.
I wonder what direction the comic can take in the next three pages? It's not too late to make it turn out that it was all a dream and Rain is actually a paladin. However, your fans might make a fuss over the sudden plot change.
Does your avatar come from this page, the third panel in the second row? Do I get a reward for spotting it?
PLEASE answer me. :beg:
Yeah, the bed does look like suck though. As do most backgrounds and junk. Not really my strongpoint, I admit. I'm trying every now and then though (now more than ever thanks to this comic), so I may get the hang of it yet.
Rain's wearing a simple nightie. Something to sleep easily and comfortably. And yeah, the falsies stay in place thanks to a bra, and it's pretty uncomfortable to sleep with a bra on. That said, because the nightie is meant to hold a little bit of, shall we say "boobage", it hangs loosely around the chest and still makes it appear that she has breasts even when she doesn't (certain looser tops really do this).
Truthfully, I'm not even sure what people are expecting to see happen, so I can't even tell you what not to expect by joking cryptically about what happens next. I guess I'll just have to keep my mouth shut this time. ^_^
Yes, my avy does come from this page, but no, sadly I'm not offering an award for spotting it. Primarily because one of the first things I say in my comment blurb is "Hey… panel 5 looks a little familiar… " as if to draw attention to it. Sorry; I kinda gave it away.
But good job catching it anyway.
This is evidence on how far ahead you have drawn the strip. You have a wide buffer. When will you change your avatar to tease us more?
~ Hi-chan <3
"You can get the book back after..." I've heard that too many times to count Also: lol at Puddle's ears
Besides, she's the "big sis". ^_^
It's a minor aesthetic change but it could be come relevant and it would help in letting people know if he is speaking in a male voice.
Also, the panels are great. LOVE them. I think the bunny needs a little more detail though, all it is is a jet black silhouette at this point.
Rain's "girly voice" dialogue is in italics, whereas all other dialogue (both hers and all of the other characters) are in bold. I still worry it's too subtle, but for the most part it seems (as in, no one's really said anything yet) that people are following along, so I'm led to basically think I'm doing okay. That said, do you find the difference too subtle then?
