RAIN p.38 - A Real Couple by JocelynSamara RAIN p.38 - A Real Couple by JocelynSamara

I have mixed feelings about the third row of panels. Itís cute and funny watching her face change as each new thought enters her mind, but I do worry she may have gotten over being sad a little too fast. On the other hand, I hesitate to drag out sadness longer than necessary (at least at this early stage of the game), or I could run the risk of making Rain annoying (which I obviously donít want).

Rudy is of course chatty as always, and it seems like he wants to tell us a story. This should be interesting. ^_^

I realize this page was written a while ago, but I found your comic through Top Web Comics, and I'm reading my way to the present.

Regarding the change of facial expressions, Rain may have been smiling by the fourth panel, but her chin is still lowered. Her body language suggests that, although she is grinning awkwardly at her own question, she's still not fully recovered from the sadness.

The story of my life, a constant 'I'm sorry for everything scene', real classic. But its definitely a scene I love to see play out. A scene you can really learn about others through.

Rain's apology shows a deep concern for what has happened and being new to Maria and Gavin's chemistry only adds more confusion to her conscious. Rudy's reaction may have been a joke, but that's his way of telling Rain not to take it to seriously. Rudy must be really familiar with past Gavin/Maria collisions over even the smallest thing (the last french fry).

Although I can admit that I'm really fascinated with Rudy's observation of Maria's sexuality. Though I may argue that Sexuality and Love aren't the same. Much like Gender Identity and Sexuality aren't the same. To put it this way, Maria maybe physically attracted to girls, but it doesn't mean she found that person that can make her smile. So considering that, it will be perfectly normal for someone like Maria to have been in male relationships. It is just another journey of the heart. Though the specifics will still be interesting to know in coming pages.

Again, having Rudy to tell Rain to shut up was once in a life time. Look forward to the next installment.
