Once again, Rainís neuroticism knows no bounds. And itís more or less true. If a person is panicked enough, they may start to fear totally irrational and implausible things. Even though Rain MUST know Mrs. Parker is just teasing and doesnít actually have X-ray vision, the very minimal chance that she wasnít lying was enough to freak her out.

Fortunately, Rain can apparently scream like a girl, thus protecting her secret. :D

This page is particularly special too for a number of reasons. First of all, it was actually just drawn yesterday. Yes, even though Iím 20+ pages beyond this scene, I decided something more needed to be squeezed into this arc (the best part about being ahead of the game). As such, this is actually the first of THREE new pages added into this chapter (although ironically, the last to be drawn). But itís funny, because now I look at it and wonder how I ever thought not having this page was a good ideaÖ ^_^

The other worthy mention is the art... particularly in the first panel. That panel depicts the very first semblance of a dynamic angle in this comic (you know, something other than perfectly eye-level). And if I may add, it was a really fun image to do and Iím very pleased with how it came out. Now I should probably work at making the rest of the comic so dynamicÖ

it is immpressive though that she can reach her voice this high, because in this part of the comic she still has a male voice but can make her voice sound like a females... I wish I could do that

Heh.  I remember Tiffany in "Exiern" saying she's not gonna give a girly scream, and then seeing the monster and saying something like "Maybe I ought to reconsider that girly scream" ... and Elliott, in "Misfile" thinking "That girly scream wasn't quite as manly as I'd have liked"...

Hah! Karma bites Mrs. Parker in the butt - you insult Rain, you get a poster in the face. You tease Rain, you get your eardrums shattered. :evillaugh:

Or if she gets sent to the office of Evil Incarnate and gets eaten by his wig.

Nice webcomic, I like it, even though I'm not in the LGBT crowd. I have your Smack Jeeves site bookmark, but I'm not sure if I should just watch from here.

Which time of day do you update, because I want to see it before school.

I'm glad you're enjoying the comic despite not being in the LGBT crowd. That actually means a lot to me. ^_^

Wherever you choose to read the comic is up to you. I post them all at virtually the same time (give or take a minute), and there's no actual difference in the content of the comic itself. I guess I could mention however, that here at DeviantArt you'll get to see my other art not related to the comic (Rain or otherwise). I don't know if that's important to you, but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

Anyway, I post new pages at midnight (Eastern Timezone) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. In other words, two hours from this writing, the new page will be up. ^_^

I probably would have said the same thing as Mrs. Parker, because I like freaking people out :evillaugh: . I was telling my friend Kaylee about Slender Man last week, just to purposely frak her out, but I think the karma got back at me, since I tripped right in front of first base in the kickball game at gym yesterday. ^^;

Really good page by the way, it was hillareous =D

Technically, if you count the cover a dynamic angle has appeared before - but either way this is a very nice change of pace! Although I am curious now how Rain manages her breasts - you can see them peeking out just barely, which nixes my assumption that they were the simplest kind of falsies.

I guess it is a little hard to tell (as I was a little afraid it would be) that Rain is in fact wearing falsies. If you look very closely just above the white bra, you can just barely see them hanging out. Though I guess if you don't know what you're looking for, I could see how they might just look like some see-through lacey addition to the bra or something.

A little of "fail" on my part, I guess. ^^;

Ahhhh! I did see them peeking out, but since they seemed to be the exact same color as her skin, I thought that was too good to just be falsies. I guess they come in lots of colors like pantyhose do...

They're slightly lighter than her skin, but again it's REALLY hard to tell. It takes up such a small amount of space though, so I guess that probably doesn't help.

I should have probably had them stick out more, now that I think about it. I mean, at the risk of giving too much information, my falsies are nearly the same color as my skin and still stand out like a sore thumb if you actually SEE them... -_-

I'd be freaked out if the cute gym teacher lady started twisted her head around as she said "I can see everything" ala Woody from Toy Story. That scene wasn't quite as freaky in the movie itself, but here.... wow...

On the other hand, I never knew screaming like a girl would ever be useful.
(Goddamn big brother... *grumble grubmle*)

(Sorry, pressed the wrong button before I was finished, oh well)

This is also a good way to prove your value of psychology. Without it, none of your pages would've worked. Basically as a listener I believed Rain.s insecurities to the point of worrying what will happen when Ms. Parker mentioned the X-Ray vision. Even if you took away the fact that she was tg, I would still believe her insecurities will go beyond normal.

Either way. you made a great effort to know your character that even though we can kind of predict her actions its still a surprise to see it happen. And I think that is what a lot of mangaka fail at. Which is not being able to listen, understand, and help your characters. I guess your a therapist, and the Rain cast came on your sofa to tell you their story.

I also couldn't imagine the page any other way. In that psyciatrist type way, something very crucial would be left out. But I guess that's why your openess is so cool. To see Rain come back to your therapy coach and say 'I screamed because Parker said she had X-ray vision' you don't easily dismiss it but try your best with the new information. And to be honest, for a couple of day old page (literally) it was a great fit to the package. Look forward to next act.

At the risk of sounding a little harsh, I think that if someone wants to be a writer of any kind, they HAD BETTER be able to understand their characters. If the writer doesn't know who these people are, how are the readers supposed to know? But I can take some small amount of pride in the fact that even if I'm not necessarily spelling things out for the reader, they can still pick up the mood and feelings I'm trying to convey. That, to me, says I'm doing my job right.

Spoken like a true mastermind. And too me there is no such thing as too harsh as long as we all continue to learn. And to mention there will always be an unseen charm in understanding the characters we write about. And as an extension, predict what they may feel and react to.

you are right, the first panel really is one of the best things about the page. No better way to make Rain feel 'small' and 'insecure' than to have the camera placed over her as though it were a 'Peeping Tom' (know its a horrible description, but still). To see you apply these more advance cameras is a sign of good progress for you, and I'm happy to see how you perfect the mood for the page.

Hopefully you'll feel motivated to do more. As an intermediate I.m still not ready to go for such angles, but seeing you go for it and pull it off motivates the rest of us as well. Look forward to what you can do, and how people become inspired knowing what you did before. Okay with the deep talk, be excited for the next tricky angle and be excited that I'm happy for your attempt :hug:
