That's right, folks. Mark your calenders because this is history in the making: I gave a deadline and I'm going to follow through.

July 26, 2009!

And that's the very reason I'm announcing this series of pieces a whopping five months ahead of time. I'm well aware it's not swimsuit season NOW (there's still tons of snow on the ground where I live), but I want to make sure I have all the time in the world to make progress on this BEFORE it's time. I want this to begin and play out during the summer itself.

Now as for the Project itself: starting on July 26, 2009, I will post one new piece per day, which will be either a picture of one of the ten girls in the competition (I'll announce them one-by-one in the near future too), or a comic that tells the story of the contest itself. So that's pretty girls, gag comics and plot, all in one project.

And for those of you who think you'll be lost because you don't know the characters; worry not. Before the end, you'll know more about these people than I thought I'd even ever need to know.

But why am I doing this? Well, besides an overabundant supply of creativity that needs an outlet, I've learned something from being a fan of anime for many years. There's no better way to advertise your serious work than to trivialize it with fan service (just look at Evangelion).

So, once again... remember July 26, 2009.

Comments, questions, thoughts, etc.?
I'd love to hear everything you guys think.

P.S. - The Troy McClure thing was just a gag, and he probably won't actually appear again. Sorry.

Did you make that background? If so, how? I love it, and I have recently discovered my grasp of the finer arts concerning water need some serious touch-ups. Do you have any tips?
