[100 Themes Challenge]
Rejection

I came up with this within the first week of the OCSC 2 [link] . I mean, with the amount of girls that could have potentially been contestants but I decided against using, I was almost halfway there. So, I thought this might be a good idea, because people who really wanted to see Carrie or Lavie now have that chance.

On the other hand, I guess it could also be a bad idea, as I can imagine someone thinking, "What were you thinking using [insert actual contestant] instead of [one of the above girls]; if SHE were in it, I would've voted for her!" I guess that makes it a bit of a catch-22.

But allow me to shed a little light on why I made the choices I made:

Carrie
Alongside Ellette [link] , she was meant to pretty much fill out the Shangri-La quota. Although probably more suited to a swimsuit contest than Ellette, when I had decide to remove someone Carrie was at the top of my list. Simply put, Ellette had always been the more popular of the two and I didn't technically REQUIRE two characters from the same story to be in the contest.

Lavie
I'm a pleaser by nature, so in a way, I'm surprised Lavie wasn't in it actually. She was, after all, the most requested character. And I really considered it for a long time too, but resisted upon the decision that she and Maria [link] are far too similar of characters. Both being lesbian high school girls unhappy about the opression they face; even if they are a bit more different in personality, I worried it'd get redundant. Maria ended up remaining the one I stuck with, admittedly due to the fact that I just wanted a Rain character in there that people knew to kind of advertise for the upcoming comic.

Callista
Or, that third girl that you don't know. A watcher had asked that I include a "moe" character. That girl ended up being Celeste [link] . But I also considered Callista here, from an old retired story known as Broken Soul. While she fit the bill just as well as Celeste, her character wasn't as fleshed or interesting and the story she's from is frankly retired for a reason... it's probably the worst thing I ever wrote (the best aspects were just taken out and put in other better works. And truthfully, I think I'm happy I went with Celeste in the end.

Quenby
Earlier this year for Script Frenzy, I'd presented Legend of the Legendary Thing to you guys. It was not met with much success (although the few that did like it loved it). Still, I wanted her for standing out (being an elf... and blonde), but at the same time worried she wouldn't stand out enough somehow. After Carrie, she was the next in line to be sacrificed when I started to switch in a few new characters for it.

So, I guess whether you love that I gave these rejected girls a chance now, or hate that I ultimately excluded them from the OCSC 2 to begin with, I still hope you enjoy this.
